Our Dogs...

We have FOUR wonderful, big dogs.  They are good friends with all of our other animals including the goats and the guineafowl.  They provide protection and companionship to all.

This is Princess. She is our newest addition.  Right now she is pretty bratty, but she is fun and certainly cute!

This is Chewey.  We call him "Ham" because he  is a goof.  He is our smartest dog and is the alpha animal here.  He is the oldest dog.  He was born in January of 2001.  Chewey is part Rottie and part Shephard and possibly part Husky.  He came from the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook, Maine when he was about 8 weeks old.

This is Maxwell when he was little.  He is a golden retriever,  black lab mix.  He is extremely loyal and very inquisitive.  He is a hunter, constantly tracking rabbits and turkeys, although he never leaves the property nor catches anything.  He just likes to explore.  He came to us from the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Auburn, Maine when he was about 10 weeks old.

This is Grizzly.  He is a Rottie and likely mixed with Great Dane.  He came to us from a family in Waterville, Maine that sold him as a purebred without papers.  They were very unreputable breeders and we certainly learned a lesson about knowing what you are buying.  He is a beautiful sweetie, and extremely friendly.  Unfortunatly though, he has many problems with his bone structure.  He has had two major surgeries both within his first year and a half of life.  He is doomed to a life of inactivity laying on the couch or the bed, luckily he does not mind at all!
